Art critic's comment

In his works dedicated to the endless space, archaeological discoveries and the most ancient periods of the history of our planet, the artist Evgeny Dorokhov explores the Infinity. His work, regardless of the theme of the series, is always characterised by a deep interest in science, and considers timeless, eternal aspects of life. Using his own artistic technique, the secrets of which the artist does not fully reveal, he experiments with textures, applies paint in multiple layers, creates a texture that helps to enhance the dramatic effects of light and shadow and convey the pulsation of colour in the paintings.

Evgeny Dorokhov's pieces are dedicated to the theme of space and depict the life of celestial bodies, the artworks impress with their texture and unexpected colour solutions. Consciously rejecting the realistic canon, in his abstractions Evgeny Dorokhov, first of all, expresses a personal feeling of the Universe as a living, pulsating entity.

In a series of artworks related to geology and archeology, the main characters are the ancient stones. Creating majestic images of ancient geological structures, the artist perceives them as the keepers of ancient secrets of existence. Evgeny Dorokhov rejects figurative images and operates with the means of abstract art, applies colour accents to emphasise certain elements in his paintings.
