On 10th April, RakovGallery presents personal exhibition of the watercolour artist from Perm Olga Peshkova.
Olga Peshkova mostly works en plein air. The term "plein air" (en plein air) translated from French means 'in the open air.' The use of this technique allows Olga Peshkova to convey all the variety of colours and tones depending on sunlight and flow of air.
Olga Peshkova works in the genres of landscape and animalism. The artist refers to her style as 'objective realism.' Her watercolours indeed depict objects realistically and expressively at the same time, delivering the artist's colourful emotions. Olga Peshkova's main goal is to notice the character or emotion and convey it in colour. This approach unites her 'portraits' of Large Machines (Ural and ZiL), images of animals and colourful still-lifes. According to the artist, for many years, the plein air has been her goal and an important part of creative process. “I just like to catch the wind in the field with tractors and a sketchbook, and I prefer watercolour to all painting techniques. I'd love watercolour to flow like a river, to be fast and lively! " - says Olga.
In the process of work, the artist is mainly interested in choosing the subject, she looks for interesting objects and enjoys working en plein air.
To purchase the artist's works, please contact the gallery staff.
The exhibition is open from 10 April to 10 May 2021, at the RakovGalley. Address: Ekaterinburg, 4D Gorkogo str. Phone: +7 (343) 207-49-90.

On 10th April, for the first time in Ekaterinburg RakovGallery presents personal exhibition of Sergei Airo.
The paintings are dedicated to mysterious celestial beings, the images are surrounded with mystical light. Although it is not easy to define the genre of these works, the images of mythical animals and fantastic silhouettes of flying models in beautiful outfits are meant to impress viewers. Adults love fairy tales no less than children, and it is no coincidence that Sergei Airo's works are filled with fantasy and the atmosphere of miracles. The author invites viewers to take a journey through these magical worlds. In his paintings, Airo combines the past and the future, and invites viewers to perceive this combination in the present. Each work is accompanied by a story, which the author is willing to tell.
In his works, Sergei Airo creates and applies his own techniques of painting. For instance, he uses the effect of artificially aged painting surface. According to the artist, the idea of aging paintings is rooted in family history.
Sergei Airo is in constant creative search, he produces paintings, interior decoration objects and installations.

On March 7th, for the first time in Ekaterinburg RakovGallery presents personal exhibition of the artist Alexander Grekov.
The exhibition features about 60 paintings. In his work, the artist follows the traditions of the Russian realistic school. The paintings of Alexander Grekov impress viewers with their high level of mastery of the oil painting technique. However, the artist's works differ significantly from the pieces of the classics of Russian art, because Alexander Grekov uses non-standard compositional approaches and selects unusual subjects for artworks. This allows the artist to reveal their conceptual ideas about the course of the historical process and the fate of their native country.
Not only the pieces of Alexander Grekov are notable due to the large formats, but they are also peculiar stylistically. Grekov's artistic manner is recognisable, and the subjects of the artist's works encourage viewers to think about pressing life issues. Comprehending the historical realities of the past, the artist expresses his opinion about the present and shares his expectations of the future. "Dead inventory" and ruins in Grekov's paintings are not just silent witnesses of past historical events. Ruined old cars, factories and houses, created by our predecessors, are comparable to the collapsed dreams of Soviet people, who were striving for the "bright future."
Alexander Grekov uses traditional oil painting technique, composition and other media to deliver his ideas to viewers. In his paintings, the artist depicts the world as he sees and comprehends it, and he also demonstrates their attitude to this world.
To purchase the artist's works, please contact the gallery staff.
The exhibition is open from 7 March to 6 April 2021, at the RakovGalley. Address: Ekaterinburg, 4D Gorkogo str. Phone: +7 (343) 207-49-90.
