The exhibition includes paintings by Nikolai Korznyakov and embroidery by Janna Korznyakova (satin stitch embroidery, embroidery floss, mini-tapestry). The concept of the exhibition is based on metaphorical and figurative parallels built between paintings and embroidery. The subjects of paintings and embroidery intertwine just like threads and reveal to the viewer the creative world, in which the artist Nikolai Korznyakov lived and worked, in a new way.
The exhibition includes selected paitnings by Nikolai Korznyakov. His pieces are filled with love for the Ural nature. The artist is fascinated by nature, but his approach in depicting it does not consist in scrupulous painting of details. His main objective is rather to understand and convey the diversity of the states of nature in his pieces. The artist masterly catches the general impression of landscape and paints it with the most natural colours and gradations of tones. By generalising the interpretations of landscapes, the artist invites the viewer to discover the new beauty in the familiar views of Kyn, Verkhoturye and other picturesque places. The lightness of the artist's manner creates natural perception. It seems that the fields, meadows and forests, depicted by the artist, breath with freshness and evoke emotions, which are similar to those felt after a short hike or walk through beautiful countryside. The cozy interiors of village houses with picturesque views from the windows invite viewers to touch the idyllic life of Korznyakov creative family.
Janna Korznyakova's embroideries amaze with their detail and technique. The subjects of these artworks have much in common with the paintings of Nikolai Korznyakov. They tell the stories, which could have been left ‘behind the scenes’ if there were no creative wife next to the artist, observing him in the process of work.
