26.11.2023

From 24 November, RakovGallery gallery hosts an exhibition of paintings and pieces of graphic arts by Sergey Akramov

The exhibition of paintings and pieces of graphic arts of the young artist Sergey Akramov includes several thematic series, which were created over a number of years. A retrospective approach to the exhibition, thus, allows tracing artistic development of Sergey Akramov in the field of easel painting.

The beginning of the artist’s creative activity is closely linked to street art, and it is not surprising that in his paintings from the series “The Textures of Streets” Sergey Akramov is inspired by the flickering neon signs, the bustling city life filled with endless traffic, pedestrians, signs and advertising posters. However, the aesthetics of everyday life in the paintings of Sergey Akramov is not associated with oppressive routine. In his paintings, Sergey Akramov introduces artistic effects and techniques based on his experience as a street artist.

Vivid and bright colours, which the artist uses in his artworks, create an atmosphere of positive emotions which anyone wishes to experience again and again. In the series of paintings “The Transit Route”, Sergey Akramov relives his impressions of travelling to different countries and shares this experience with the viewer. His cityscapes are filled with the joy of discovering something new. The experimental series of pieces of graphic arts “The Moments” represents abstract landscapes. In this series, based on pictures taken from a car or train window, the artist shares his associative impressions and tells the story of his trip by means of vibrant contrasting colours, expressive lines and beautiful textures.
