Interview with the Artist: Olga Gorbunova

Our collaboration with Olga Gorbunova has begun with the opening of the artist’s personal exhibition at the RakovGallery in Yekaterinburg. In their paintings, the artist pays particular attention to symbolic images and combines these with surrealistic features. Philosophical ideas and vivid imagery of Olga Gorbunova’s artworks certainly require interpretation. This interview aims to introduce the artist to the viewers and to provide them with a deeper understanding of Olga Gorbunova’s pieces. During our conversation, we have learned about the beginning of the artist’s career, discussed her favourite painting techniques and the mysterious meanings encrypted in the artworks, and Olga Gorbunova has also told us several unusual stories associated with some of her paintings.
