Art critic's comment

The artist finds inspiration and ideas for her paintings by cosely observing the world around us. In her artworks, Maria Dobrovolskaya explores such topics as family and sports, develops paintings dedicated to summer life, music, and walks in the forest. In general, the artist is mostly focused on the theme of human life.
As a graduate of the Academy of Arts, she follows the major tradition of her alma mater, which consists in the idea that art should be about people and that artworks are created for people. At the same time, the artist works on self-expression in her paintings, she constructs images and subjects of her paintings through an 'action', which she considers the 'main character' of her paintings. The artist works in various genres, she paints landscapes, historical paintings, portraits, and still lifes. Maria Dobrovolskaya’s pieces are enriched with semantic content, the composition of paintigns is harmonious, whereas the warm colours create the atmosphere of joyful world in which the characters of the paintings live.
