Art critic's comment

The foundation of Victoria Mankevich's creative method is openness to experimentation and the ability to express herself in various genres and techniques. In her pieces, the artist combines both classical techniques and contemporary trends. Her paintings are filled with deep philosophical meanings, and each project or series of artworks impresses with its conceptuality. The artist's style is often characterised by the simplicity of composition and monochrome palette, which indicates a high level of mastery and a subtle sense of colour.  Female images in Victoria Mankevich's work are strong in their fragility; having cast aside masks and external conventions, they make a choice in favour of inner beauty. Not only the artist paints nudes, but she also depicts animals, flowers and objects filled with symbolic or allegorical meaning. In her pieces, the artist introduces philosophical ideas, expresses interest in spirituality and nature. The paintings contain an element of understatement, which encourages reflection. The artist's commitment to the aesthetics of minimalism is expressed in close attention to the objects depicted; the materials and textures are  masterly conveyed on canvas.
