About the artist
Born on September 21, 1985, in Leningrad. Studied at SPAHL named after B. V. Johanson from 1997 to 2003, under the leadership of Kirillov L. N. In 2003 entered the faculty of painting in St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. Since 2005 to 2009 Ilya studied in the workshop of easel painting under the guidance of O. A. Eremeev. Since 2010 he is a member of the Union of Artists of St. Petersburg.

Artist works in the technique of oil painting, graphics. Participant in art exhibitions since 2007 in St. Petersburg (2007-2017), Moscow (2011-2017), in Chinese exhibitions (Harbin, Hangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai from 2010-2017.)

Works are held in the collection of the government of the Russian Federation, private collections in Russia, China, the United States.

The works of Ilya Khokhrin attract the attention of both connoisseurs of classical painting, thanks to the use of techniques and poetic images of classical painting, as well as lovers of new directions of modern painting filled with philosophical ideas.
The works of I. Khokhrin are distinguished from other artists of similar directions - originality, a storm of nature and human emotions. Two directions of creativity of this young artist can be distinguished: experiments in the framework of hyperrealism and expressive landscape works. The main source of inspiration for the painter is exceptional nature.
Khokhrin is in constant dialogue with the viewer, and his paintings never leave the viewer indifferent.
