About the artist

Maxim Vladislavovich kaetkin (born in 1972, Chelyabinsk-70 Chelyabinsk region), painter, member of the Union of artists of Russia (since 2001).

He graduated from the Sverdlovsk art school. I. D. Shadrina (1992), specialty "Teacher of painting and drawing"; Ural branch of the Russian Academy of painting, sculpture and architecture (1998), specialty "Artist-painter"; postgraduate course of the Russian Academy of painting, sculpture and architecture (2001), specialty "Painting" with the qualification "Artist-painter. High school teacher".

In 2003, he was appointed Director of the Ural branch of the Russian Academy of painting, sculpture and architecture (Perm).

Combines administrative work with teaching and creative activities.

About painting

Studying the nature of the terrain, types of fields, junction road, Maxim Kalkin far from capturing pure landscape. About the exhibition

During the XX century, so much technology was produced that it is already self-sufficient and self-valuable for painting. The artist is able to convey admiration for the subject world, which has passed the test of time and is familiar to every Soviet person since childhood. Kaetkin talks about his works as a portrait of collective memory-the motives of his landscapes really have a strong effect of recognition, because they depict the corners of their native land with great persuasiveness, stability, and generosity.

The exhibition "Character of the area" contains works of the last five years, during which Maxim Kaetkin thought and worked in the same way. The artist does not refer to this project as completed: it is constantly changing, there is a plan to continue working in this direction. This is a project of a large part of life, the so-called "epic of the outgoing coast".
