About the artist
Andreas Golder (b. 1979) was born in Yekaterinburg, Russia, but has lived and worked in Germany since the '90s. Golder's solo exhibitions have been held at White Cube (London, UK), Arken Museum of Contemporary Art (Copenhagen, Denmark), Michael Fußs Galerie (Berlin, Germany), Galerie Urs Meile (Lucerne, Switzerland), BY Gallery (Milan, Italy) and others.
The imperfections of the individuals and the world itself become the main characters of the artworks, may it be an unfortunate joke, an unnecessary comment, bodily defects or vulnerable thoughts. The artist's characters are the hostages of unachievable standards of beauty, forced to create their own space of chaos, free from conventional canons.
